OVERVIEW

The Ethics and Business Law Department at the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business (OCB) invites applications for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor position in the area of business ethics beginning in September 2027.

 

The department’s faculty are specialists in ethics and business law, including research and teaching at the intersection between them. Our faculty have had a long history of holding leadership positions in these disciplines, including with the Society for Business Ethics, Academy of Management Social Issues in Management Division, Academy of Legal Studies in Business, International Society for Business Economics and Ethics, and other organizations. Our faculty teach core and specialized courses in all OCB programs, including a specialized undergraduate compliance major. Salary & Benefits

 

The University of St. Thomas offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits program, which includes:

The salary range for this position is $117,000 to $125,000

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD or doctorate (U.S. or foreign equivalent degree)  in Business Ethics or another closely related field required or, alternatively, ABD candidates with substantial completion of the Ph.D. before September 1st, 2027.
  • Ability to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in business ethics.
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to teaching excellence.
  • A strong research agenda in normative and/or empirical business ethics research with an established record or strong potential to publish high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals. The department has a particularly strong tradition in normative business ethics that continues to be a priority.
  • A commitment to engaging in service to the Ethics and Business Law Department, the Opus College of Business, the University of St. Thomas, and the mission of a Catholic university.
