OVERVIEW

The University of St. Thomas Biology Department invites applications for adjunct faculty members to teach lecture course - BIOL 207 – Genetics, Ecology, and Evolution during the Fall 2026 semester. Adjunct appointments are without tenure and are not tenure-track appointments. BIOL 207 is 4-credit core course for Biology and related majors. Course materials are available for use. Mentorship will be provided by current faculty with experience teaching these courses. Class size is capped at 48.

Salary Range: 

The salary range for the College of Arts and Sciences Adjunct positions ranges from $5,994 to $6,717 (per 4 credit undergraduate course). Rate of pay is determined by academic credential and years of teaching experience.

 

The course is scheduled for 12:15-13:20AM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays throughout the semester (early September to mid-December). All lectures are in person

 

We seek candidates interested in facilitating meaningful experiences between students and faculty that empower undergraduate students to find success and to solve challenging problems in service of the common good.

 

Adjunct Faculty Teaching Responsibilities to Include:

  • Deliver instruction using student-engaged pedagogical approaches
  • Provide timely feedback to students re: their grades and progress in course 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Expertise in the subject matter covered in the course (evolutionary genetics, evolutionary biology, and ecology)
  • Experience leading a college-level class is preferred
