OVERVIEW

The Finance Department at the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business invites applications for a full-time, clinical faculty position in finance, beginning in September 2026. Clinical appointments are without tenure and are not tenure-track appointments.

 

Primary duties of the position include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in finance, active engagement with the finance profession, and service to the college and university. Candidates with expertise in all areas of finance are welcome to apply. The department offers courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs in business.

The Opus College of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International. The College offers a diverse portfolio of offerings including undergraduate, MBA, and specialized graduate business programs. The Finance Department consists of faculty members with a range of teaching and research expertise in finance subspecialties who share a dedication to the College’s mission and a desire for strong working relationships with the Twin Cities business community. QUALIFICATIONS

At a minimum, qualifications include:

  • M.B.A. with finance specialization or MS in finance, preferably from an AACSB-accredited institution
  • prior experience teaching courses in finance at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels
  • experience in the financial industry.

 

Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate and/or graduate students in finance, a student-centered approach to higher education, and engaging in service to the Finance Department, the Opus College of Business, and the University of St. Thomas. Candidates should show strong promise to contribute to the intellectual and practical lives of students and other stakeholders and to remain current in the field through professional practice and engagement with the surrounding business community. 

 

Salary and Benefits

The University of St. Thomas offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits program, which includes:

Salary Range: $100,000 - $110,000

 

The University of St. Thomas has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
