Overview
The Accounting Department at the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business (OCB) invites applications for our adjunct faculty pool. We use the adjunct faculty pool to staff classes as openings arise. Our typical adjunct teaching needs include introductory courses in financial and managerial accounting. Occasionally, we need adjunct faculty to teach courses in intermediate, audit, tax or cost accounting.
The Opus College of Business employs a mission-driven approach to business education. The University’s mission is: “Inspired by Catholic intellectual tradition, the University of St. Thomas educates students to be morally responsible leaders who think critically, act wisely, and work skillfully to advance the common good.” To support this mission, we encourage all of our faculty to enhance the teaching of accounting concepts by bringing in examples and applications from business and society that emphasize ethics and the common good. The Accounting Department offers a well-regarded undergraduate major in accounting and supports the college’s undergraduate and graduate programs with core and elective courses. Adjunct faculty are expected to have a strong understanding of the accounting content for their course, relevant professional experience, as well as excellent communication and teaching skills.
