OVERVIEW
The Department of English in the College of Arts and Sciences invites applicants for a one-year non-tenure track Visiting Assistant Professor of British Literature to begin in the fall of 2025 (preferred August 1 start date). Preference will be given to candidates who can teach a wide range of British literature courses from the medieval era through the nineteenth century. Candidates should also have demonstrated expertise in teaching introductory writing and literature courses. This is a one-year position (AY 2025-26).
About the English Department
All full-time members of the English Department teach six courses per year, two-thirds of which are non-major courses in writing and literature; maintain active professional engagement as reflected in a scholarly publication record; advise undergraduate students; and contribute to service to the department, university, and/or greater community. Applicants must have a proven record of excellence in undergraduate teaching and must demonstrate a commitment to an inclusive, welcoming, and supportive learning environment. Salary & Benefits
The University of St. Thomas offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits program, which includes:
Salary range: $65,000 - $73,000
