OVERVIEW

The Department of Health and Exercise Science in the Morrison Family College of Health at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN invites applicants for an adjunct faculty teaching position for spring semester 2025. The successful candidate will design and teach an undergraduate course titled HLTH 430: Worksite Health Promotion. The course will be delivered in-person, Tuesdays from 3:25 to 6:45 p.m. (2/3/2025 to 5/23/2025).

 

Teaching Responsibilities Include:

  • Deliver instruction using student-engaged pedagogical approaches
  • Develop lecture material, assignments, and examinations that align with program’s defined objectives and learning outcomes
  • Provide timely feedback to students re: their grades and progress in course
  • Deliver mid-term and final grades in accordance with the University’s academic calendar
  • Be available to students for 1-2 office hours per week
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Commitment to high quality instruction in a student-centered environment
  • Ability to cultivate an inclusive learning environment that support students with various learning styles and diverse backgrounds
  • Experience using the Canvas learning management system (preferred), Microsoft Office Suite, and instructional technologies

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Minimum qualifications:
  • A Master’s Degree in health promotion, health education, public health, or related health field.
  • Prior teaching experience and/or professional experience in worksite health promotion.
