  • OVERVIEW

    The University of St. Thomas Mathematics department invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty member to teach one or more statistics labs for an introductory course in applied statistics (STAT 220). STAT 220 is taken primarily by non-statistics/mathematics majors and includes topics in descriptive statistics, probability and probability distributions, inferential statistics, and principles of research design.

    Statistics labs meet once per week and are paired with a lecture taught by full-time faculty members in CISC. Labs are designed to help students engage in real-world statistical and graphical analysis using a statistical software package (e.g., R, SPSS, Minitab, JMP, or Excel). 

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum qualifications for the position include either

    • A master's degree in statistics/mathematics or a closely related field OR
    • A bachelor's degree in statistics/mathematics or a closely related field and at least 18 graduate credits in statistics/mathematics or significant professional experience with statistical analysis AND previous teaching experience
