The School of Social Work at the University of St. Thomas invites applicants for a full-time tenure track (open ranked) faculty position with responsibilities to teach and lead in the Doctorate in Social Work program beginning in July 2019.
The DSW Program Director position includes program recruitment, admissions, liaison to professional organizations (i.e.: GADE and CSWE), program administration, ongoing communications with current DSW students, and supervision of faculty and staff. A successful candidate will have an active scholarly agenda, and a history of publication and presentation. An MSW and doctorate in social work are required. Candidates must be eligible for social work licensure in Minnesota (have two years post-MSW practice experience).
Faculty are expected to teach six courses per academic year, which may include summer. While this position may include release from some teaching responsibilities for administrative work, there is an expectation that the individual will teach several classes per year. All doctoral courses are primarily online courses with the exception of a few summer residency courses; therefore, expertise in online teaching and pedagogy is required. Content expertise in social work education, research, and leadership preferred. Other faculty responsibilities include dissertation and student advising, and requisite faculty service.

An MSW and doctorate in social work are required. Candidates must be eligible for social work licensure in Minnesota (have two years post-MSW practice experience). Administrative and leadership experience in academic settings is strongly preferred.
Preference will be given to someone ready to serve at least one term as director of the DSW program starting in Fall, 2019.
