  • OVERVIEW

    The Department of Chemistry at the University of St. Thomas (MN), invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-line teaching position at the rank of Clinical Faculty starting July, 2019.

     

    The successful candidate will teach ~7 courses (lecture and laboratory) per year primarily in the area of general chemistry, with additional responsibilities associated with coordinating the general chemistry program and other departmental service. Responsibilities will include working with other faculty on design and implementation of new laboratory exercises, publishing the lab manual, organizing and leading meetings of all faculty and instructors teaching in the general chemistry program, and performing curricular assessment.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field, ABD will be considered. Stong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with a firm commitment to teaching.

     

    It is essential that the candidate has a strong commitment to teaching and strong organizational and interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with the general chemistry laboratory team and department as a whole. Preference will be given to candidates who will be able to contribute in one or more of the following ways: help with maintenance of department instrumentation, training and promotion of safe laboratory practices, and/or the development of on-line course content.
